A woman is hugging another woman in a hug

Touch is a human need.

No one should be denied the comfort of a loved one's presence.
Join us to push ICE to allow contact visits at CA City Detention Facility.

People detained at Cal City are not allowed to hug and hold their loved ones.

California City Detention Center opened in August 2025 without the necessary permits and in violation of state and local law, and despite vocal opposition. People detained at Cal City Detention Center are denied access to in-person contact visits.

Families travel for hours only to be met with a thick pane of glass between them and their loved ones. Parents are unable to embrace their newborn babies for the first time. Loved ones are denied one last hug before being separated by deportation. We call on ICE and CoreCivic to immediately allow contact visits at California City Detention Facility.

"For those waiting to be deported, saying their goodbyes, an opportunity to hug and kiss our loved ones for the last time– these are the priceless moments we are being deprived of..”

- Allen, detained at CA City Detention Facility
